Slack

What Is It

Slack is a communication hub where you and your team will be in contact with everyone at Crate Media. By cutting email out of the equation, we streamline comms, eliminate issues, and create clarity for all parties.

How To Use It

Your podcast will have its own channel, and everything having to do with the show will stay right there in the channel. Using “@” you can tag specific team members to get their attention, and using threads, we can keep tasks and conversations organized. More information is discussed in the attached video.

What To Look Out For

The Slack channel’s “About” or “Information” page includes two very important links involved in show production: the Drive folder to upload files, and the submission form to send us new episodes.

What Is It

File and folder management for all of our documents and files related to the podcast. This is the single hub for all of your show’s raw production files, as well as all of our final deliverables created by Crate.

How To Use It

We’ve created a single folder called ‘Upload Files Here’ where you can drop any and all files and assets for the team. Crate will jump in and organize these on your behalf.

What To Look Out For

Every episode of the podcast (every guest, essentially) will receive their own episode folder to help keep things organized. When a show is ready for you to review, you’ll be directed to the Deliverables folder, which contains all the polished, final files that will be released.

What Is It

In order to begin production, we need a few pieces of information about the episode. This normally includes the episode number and the publish date for when it will be released. For certain shows, we may also need your guest’s information, such as their email or headshots.

How To Use It

It’s simple; just open the form link, type in your episode’s information, and hit submit. This will send the information to our team and begin the production process.

What To Look Out For

In general we try to stick to the production schedules we set, which are based around the episode’s release day. If you need to change around the episode order, or add an additional episode, please let us know in Slack.
